I had one of the worst meals in a long time at this location and I won't be back. We get seated and the hostess goes on ahead and asks us what we want to drink. I ordered a specialty coffee drink, can't remember the name but it's one of those that has all the sweet syrups and whipped cream on top. Caramel Macchiato or something like that. We wait and wait and wait. Finally a waitress come to us asking has anybody served us yet and we let her know that no, nobody has yet, except for the drinks. So she gets our drinks, except she brings hubby his drink and tells me that they're still waiting on mine. Okay, so then we order. They finally bring the coffee while we're eating our soup and salad and two things wrong with it. First it was the wrong kind of coffee drink. Olive Garden has other specialty coffees where it's just a mocha or a latte or cappuccino and you still have to add sugar, etc. This was one of those kinds of coffees. The one I had ordered was a sweet confection that was supposed to have whipped cream and syrup on the top. The second thing? When I tasted what was brought to me, it was lukewarm bordering on cold. In other words this thing has been made and had also been sitting around at the bar for awhile before anybody noticed. Luckily the waitress was nice and took it off the bill and brought me a coke instead. So I guess they don't know what coffee they offer and also how to make them. Then on top of that, I ordered the tilapia with shrimp on top and the tilapia was good; the shrimp? Some wasn't cooked all the way through. I just trudged on and hoped I would not get sick (luckily I never did.) Even though our waitress was nice this is just a badly managed restaurant and I know I'll not only never come to this location again but Olive Garden may have just lost my business for good because in the town I live in now we also had to stop eating at that Olive Garden for basically the same reasons as what had happened at this location. I believe that this is why Olive Garden has failed in recent years and they wonder why their business is not doing as good as it used to.

I came in today with a few coworkers to celebrate a birthday for lunch. I sat down and ordered the Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich half portion with fries. It also came with unlimited house garden salad and breadsticks. So let me begin by saying this is the very first time that I have ever been to an Olive Garden. The waitress was very kind and attentive to our party. The establishment reminded me of entering someone's home. The salad was very fresh and tasty. I'm a total bread person, the bread was very good. The sandwich was ok. Not great not bad. The fries were pretty good too. Personally I felt that it was average as far as Americanized Italian goes. I wouldn't go out of my way to go. At the same time if someone I knew wanted to meet there or even go, I wouldn't say no.

Five stars for an Olive Garden? What??? I know what you're thinking -- Olive Garden is a chain, the food isn't terribly amazing, and it's pretty much the same everywhere. But let me explain. Walking in, this Olive Garden exudes the same personality as any of its other counterparts. The decor tries to mimic the Tuscan feel with creamy-gold colors, accented by racks of wines and vines clinging to the walls. It's nothing too spectacular. It's nice, it's comfortable -- this is somewhere you'd take your date, have lunch with the girls, or bring your family. The food is decent and mostly consistent. I've come here for lunch with my girlfriends for years (endless Soup, Salad, & Breadsticks, anyone?) and my family loves to come here for dinner when we can't decide what to eat. Pretty much anything on the menu is alright, it's just a matter of personal preference. But that's not the reason for this review. In fact, I almost didn't write one, but this Olive Garden definitely deserves recognition for the spectacular service. I feel like this Olive Garden goes above and beyond the call of duty for customer service. Dinner started out regularly -- we were seated, they took our orders, served us drinks, etc. My dad and brother decided to share the 2 for $25 deal and my mom and I had their 3-course meal for $12.95. Since the meals came with an appetizer, we ordered the Mussels di Napoli. However, five minutes later, our server came to tell us they had run out and asked us to choose ANY other appetizer on the menu, and they wouldn't charge us extra (we would get whatever app we wanted, but they would only list it under the 3-course meal special). Most restaurants would do that, maybe, but this is the reason for my review: after our new appetizer came out (we chose the Sampler), the manager came out with a small bowl of mussels to give to us. Apparently, the kitchen just didn't have enough mussels to serve as an appetizer, but he wanted us to be able to eat something we had originally wanted. Billy and our waitress (I suck, because I forgot her name -- but she has black hair and doesn't wear acrylic nails because people used to say things to her about them.) deserve an award. Amazing. Five Stars.

I did a to go order here recently for dinner and got to entrees with an appetizer. The entrees were good, it was ready when I got there, no issues with service. My problem was with the stuffed mushrooms we got as an appetizer. They were watery and had a fishy smell to them. Didnt taste all that great. I have had this appetizer before at other Olive Gardens and dont remember it being that bad. I have cooked mushrooms myself quite a bit and gave smelled bad mushrooms that i have thrown out before cooking them. It reminded me of that but I thought maybe they just cooked it in oil that had fish in it or something. We ate them anyway and the next day I was sick. My wife was ok but I had issues for about 2 days after. The only thing I could contribute it to was those mushrooms but I can't say for sure. I would give this particular branch another try but I would never order those mushrooms from this branch again.

I prefer Carrabba's, but Olive Garden gets 4-stars too simply because of the salad & breadsticks (with alfredo sauce of course)! Carrabba's dishes are superior, but you can't beat OG's salad & breadsticks. Service equally good at both. Mouth watering NOW! LOL! OH, I forgot that they will customize dishes for you at OG (have never asked at Carrabba's). I asked for the parmesan encrusted tilapia over fettucine alfredo instead of over lemon-wine-butter sauce pasta, and they did it for me with NO upcharge. DELICIOUS!!!

We frequent this Olive Garden often. We've always had a pleasurable experience here. We've gone in small groups and large ones as well. While they can accommodate large groups, I wish they would allow call ahead seating. The wait time (for a large or small group) is usually acceptable. The food is good, and depending on who your server is, the service is usually good as well.

I am not a huge OG fan anyways. However, you can usually bank on the food being ok. However, the two times I visited this location, my food was really bland. I don't recommend this location. Service was very good, but food was lacking.

Best service ever. The manager made her helpful presence known throughout the time. Handled our dinner group well, even as we told them we were in a rush. Food was good, Gluten free noodles was the reason we came here, so we can ALL eat Italian. Bring a sweater, freezing. Couldn't they give a 6year old kid a small scoop of ice cream for his birthday? Nothing, other than offering for US to pay for a cake. Cheap, but still a good place.

Stopped by for lunch. After ordering water, I asked for the lunch menu. I waited 10 minutes while the waitress helped three people around my table. At 15 minutes without water or menus, my party of three left. The person at the door who sat us had no clue why we left and did not ask why. I went to a neighboring restaurant which was much busier and now I know why!

Great for lunch or dinner, but during lunch hours on the week days it's less crowded. The staff is great, nice clean restaurant. Doesn't get to loud, food is really good, and they always have specials. Nice place to take a date or just get the family out the house. (Men watch your step in the restroom, idk how often they clean the urine off the floors).

The only reason I give this place 2 stars is for the waitresses/waiter very attentive, the food is just boring tasteless typical restaurant chain if a real Italian chef was to eat here or any good chef for that matter would be very disappointed pasta is over cooked the food in general tastes like it's frozen not fresh the decor of the place is like sitting in your great grandmas house for lunch way outdated, boring atmosphere over priced drinks my draft beer was almost more expensive than my meal it's a typical american Italian based Chain not fresh over seasoned over priced boring place, much better competitors in the area,if you don't believe me order the pizza it's disgusting not worthy or close to any Italian pizza it should be taken off the menu, made me sick for days never again thick undercooked raw dough greasy toppings don't know how this place has customers.

My wife asked if they had a Caesar salad and the waiter said they could make one for her. Lettuce was frozen in the salad so she switched her order to Baked Ziti which should have included a salad. While the original salad was removed from the bill, no adjustment was made in the bill for the lack of salad with her Ziti dinner. Also, we asked repeatedly for straws and only received them after we started to use a wine glass to serve my son his chocolate milk. Unfortunately this move also earned us a five minute lecture from the manager regarding why our son cannot drink chocolate milk out of a wine glass. Even after explaining about the lack of straws, the manager kept going on and on about it. He only shut up after we pointed out that if it was that big a deal, they should have removed the glasses from our table when we told the waiter we didn't want any wine. Finally, myself, my father, and my wife all felt that out food was not as hot or fresh as it should have been. The only bright spot was that my son loved his spaghetti and meatballs and being able to drink from the wine glass for most of the meal.

Great service. Kids menu was the usual fare but well cooked. The hand made pasta, whole wheat fettuccine was well prepared with a tasty sauce. Chicken Marsala was a bit salty. Reliable fare with great service.

Every time I go here it is a pretty pleasant experience. The food is usually on point, in fact they usually have the perfect amount of sauce on their dishes (I LOVE sauce) in comparison to other Olive Garden's that put a very small amount of sauce. Breadsticks are usually made perfectly and the salad is always fresh tasting and delicious. They are also usually quick to seat you, which could be the fact that they are in Winter Haven and it usually isn't too big of a crowd. I also always receive great quick service here. I would definitely recommend eating here if you want to eat out in Winter Haven. It's pretty much the best sit-down restaurant in the area.

We had a great waiter named Aaron who was very entertaining during dinner who actually was proud to claim to be a redneck which had me laughing and he was very attentive. The wait staff kept an eye on me all day to make sure that I wasn't going in to labor because I am 9 days away from due date so when i went into the bathroom the host staff came in and checked on me lol. We had come here for our anniversary dinner because I was craving fettuccine Chicken alfredo so we decided it was a good choice to get the craving out of the way. The soup I ordered was the zuppa toscana which I normally order instead of the salad was very off compared to the other visits I have had at Olive garden the potatoes were way to thick and big rather than a smaller dice and they were raw there was no seasoning in the soup and the kale that is normally in the soup was very woody and was not cooked like it normally was so it was very unappealing. The pasta was okay the alfredo sauce was very thick and not the normal consistency. I was happy they still have the black tie mousse cake which is my favorite dessert here and all the chain locations in Tx have got rid of it which is sad for me. The peach belini tea is still here as well which is like my favorite thing. The 2 for 25 for guest classic favorites is a great choice which is another reason why we chose to go here after seeing the commercials, we had to get our server to correct it because he had rung everything in at a separate price even though we had already stated we were doing the 2 for 25 and not individually ordering everything.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
